In other news, I've completed three more quilt blocks!
I'm really enjoying making these blocks, especially now that I've got some cutting experience. I've been watching quite a few YouTube videos from the Missouri Star Quilt company because there's nothing like watching someone else make something look really easy to help you along the way.
I've also managed one other little project this week. It's something that featured in this months Simply Homemade magazine - a little hanging heart decoration that I think fits perfectly with my new craft cupboard.
What do I you think? Apologies for the poor photo but really - could this weather BE any worse? This photo was taken in the daylight with all the lights on!
I'm over to Handmade Harbour to catch up with everyone - always something to brighten up the day over there!
Love Natalie
Your quilt blocks are looking good - can't wait to see it all made up! Making the blocks is the best part I think!
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame about the Aran cardigan. However there is nothing worse than spending time (especially given how precious time can be these days) on something you really are not enjoying.
ReplyDeleteWell done with the blocks. I wish the points on my quilt triangles were as sharp as yours !!! xx
Your quilt blocks are looking great. I love the purple and turquoise!
ReplyDeleteI agree, you have to enjoy handmaking something otherwise what's the point, i'm sure the perfect pattern is out there just waiting for you to discover it!
ReplyDeleteWhat fantastic progress with the quilt panels! I can tell you're enjoying making them! :)
The patchwork panels are great, do like them. Know what you mean about knitting, Im still working on a blanket I started last year :D

Natalie, I'm so with you on the knitting, I'm very slow. I did an Aran using big needles and thick wool - it still took me ages! I do love the cardigan though so it was worth it.
ReplyDeleteWell done with the blocks, they are looking grand.
The patchwork panels are lovely - gorgeous colours. Hope you have a good week.
ReplyDeletelove the door hanger :) patches are going nicely look forward to seeing the end piccy! i too have times where i think should give up on a wip x
ReplyDeleteI also love the colours. As to that Aran pattern, what about finding some tutorials on youtube ... or is that a bad suggestion ;)
ReplyDeleteMy mum used to knit aran sweaters and she made it look so easy, I tried once and like you I didn't continue, I put my energies into another project instead. In some ways I'm now a bit sorry that I didn't persevere, maybe you could try doing a few squares as practice????

The pattern blocks are looking good. I sometimes find that I've taken on something to do that just isn't working and have to give up too.
